The Tigray Crisis: What does it mean for Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa?

William Davison joined International Crisis Group in April 2019 as Senior Analyst for Ethiopia. Previously, William was Bloomberg’s Ethiopia correspondent from 2010 until 2017, and has also published in The Guardian, Foreign Policy, Al Jazeera, Christian Science Monitor, and other international media. In 2018 he founded Ethiopia Insight website.

Rashid Abdi is a Horn of Africa expert, currently working as a consultant and previously Project Director for the Horn with the International Crisis Group. He holds degrees in Mass Communication and a PhD in Comparative Religion and Philosophy. He served as senior editor with the BBC, and with East Africa’s leading Daily Nation.

Kjetil Tronvoll is the Director of Oslo Analytica, as well as Professor and Research Director of Peace and Conflict studies at Bjorknes Univesity College. Tronvoll was professor of human rights at the University of Oslo until 2010, and former cofounding partner of International Law and Policy Institute (ILPI), an international advisory company.
